Personal Branding Weekly - Does Personal Branding Work for Introverts - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career
Personal Branding Weekly - Does Personal Branding Work for Introverts - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career During a group coaching meeting, I was asked if personal branding works for an introvert? The answer is yes. Yes, you still need to discover what makes you unique. Understanding your strengths and how you can communicate in a way that is uniquely you, is also a part of personal branding. Itâs important to reframe how you express and communicate your personal brand so that is congruent with who you are. Reframing how you think about your personal brand is also important. If it feels uncomfortable to you then it will be disingenuous to others. After youâve discovered what makes you unique, then think of the best ways to communicate your brand in a way that resonates with you. Social media is a good start since it allows introverts to connect and engage in a way thatâs more comfortable since relationship building is done from behind the monitor. Strong relationships and advocates can be built through social platforms. Even on busy platforms like Twitter, you do slow down and communicate with people with tweets, one-on-one. Writing articles and showcasing talents in written form can be a strong channel to showcase your thoughts and strengths. Slideshare presentations and even webinars are also great ways to be able to express themselves. Even though you include your voice in these two tools you do not have to speak in front of the camera which provides more opportunities to focus on the information and your analysis of it than on you. Thereâs a misconception that introverts are anti-social. Thatâs just not true. It takes their energy and drains them when they do interact with others (thatâs what Iâve learned from being a mom of an introvert). One-on-one conversations are the area where they are strong. They may have a fewer amount of friends or interactions. And, quality does trump quantity. Do you recognize yourself as an introvert?
